Celebrating the Five Year Old!

As the kids are getting older Jay and I have tried to start establishing some birthday traditions for our family.  When the kids come downstairs in the morning they have their birthday presents wrapped and waiting for them at their seat at the table.  Usually it takes Trey about 10 minutes to wake up before he actually gets out of bed, but this morning Trey was downstairs less than 2 minutes after I woke him up!  He was very excited about his birthday!

Trey found both presents downstairs and immediately gave one to Charlotte.  He asked me which one was his and which one was Charlotte's, but I explained they were both his since it was his birthday.  He let Charlotte open one present and she was just as excited about his presents as he was!

Breakfast was Trey's favorite, doughnuts.  We rarely have doughnuts at our house so this was a real treat.
At school, his name was called on the announcements and he got to go to the office to get a birthday sticker.

Esther is not sure about all the commotion this morning!
Charlotte was so excited for the doughnuts!

After school, we picked him and up and went to the library to get his very own library card.  When you turn five you get to have your own library card.  The librarian talked him about the responsibilities of the card and he signed his name on the form after Jay filled it out.  Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of this process because my hands were tied with the other two little ones while they got the card.

Having fun at Chick-fil-a
We let Trey pick out where to go eat dinner for his birthday and he chose Chick-fil-a.  After nuggets and some play time it was back home for cake and ice cream.  Grandma and Grandpa came over to give Trey his presents and sing to the birthday boy.

Waiting patiently for his cake

We had a wonderful day celebrating Trey!
