Little Miss Vanity

Charlotte loves herself. There is nothing that makes her happier than seeing herself in a mirror. She waves to herself, talks to herself, and laughs at herself. In the church nursery when I pick her up they always comment about how much time she spent waving and talking to herself in the big mirror they have along the bottom of the one of the walls. They said she needs no other entertainment.

She has found out she can see her reflection in the fireplace in our house (don't worry- we haven't turned it on) and now the oven. When I am in the kitchen she is usually crawling her way to oven door to give herself a high five and carry on a conversation. I tried to get a picture of her in aciton, but it is really blurry from the reflection of the oven. You can tell that she is waving to herself and jibber-jabbering to reflection.

Who is that cute baby I see?

OH- it's me!

Hi me!

You know you would want to spend all day in front of the mirror if you looked this cute too!

Boys Will Be Boys

We had a lot of little boys at our house over Thanksgiving. Well, only 3, but it felt like more. They made for an energy filled holiday with lots of running, playing outside, and rough-housing.

And some big boys were there also.

November Days

November has flown by! I feel like I blinked my eyes and half the month has past me!

This month has been pretty mild in weather so we have been playing outside a lot.

Our home has a designated "play area" in the breakfast nook between the kitchen and the living room. We aren't going to win any magazine awards for having a beautifully decorated home, but the space means that I can be cooking and watching the kids and they can still see me as well. Charlotte particularly loves the area because she can get to any and every toy and have a field day.

Trey and Charlotte are playing together a lot more these days. Trey likes to read her books and has started to even put her into his lap to read to her. She likes to eat the book or just go to another and then he will start sternly telling her, "Listen, Charlotte! Listen to the book!"

Jay downloaded a free app to my phone a few weeks ago for Trey to have a game to play. It is Superwhy and Trey likes to play this game where you choose the letters to make up words. He has never done much on our phones until now and he LOVES to play his game. We try to limit it to just in the car, but sometimes when I am trying to cook I give in and let him play. He is very excited when he picks the right letter. He started playing this game about 3 weeks ago and the only letter he knew was T and now he can pick out most of them.

This week we are busy getting ready for Thanksgiving. I have 2 pies made already and in the freezer, the turkey is thawing, and we are cleaning a different section of the house each evening. Trey is in charge of the floors.

10 months old

Charlotte turns is 10 months old! It is so hard to believe it has been almost a year since she was born. In so many ways I can't remember our life without 2 kids (or any kids!) but this past year has flown by!

Looking back on my past posts Charlotte's personality is pretty consistent. She loves to be around people and still has no aversion to strangers. She may look at them for a few minutes, but then she will got any open and willing arms!

She still absolutely adores her brother. She follows all around the house and if she is upset he likes to sing to her. Whenever she fusses because she has been left alone in the room he runs to her and starts to sing his ABCs. Then he says, "I make you happy Charlotte!"

She has adjusted really well to two naps a day- an hour to an hour and a half in the morning and afternoon. She has also been sleeping from 7 pm -7 am for the past few weeks. It is amazing!

Charlotte can get anywhere she wants to be, and usually it is right in the middle of the action! She also loves her food and will eat anything you give her. She enjoys new tastes and textures and this mama enjoys that someone will eat anything she cooks :) Sometimes Charlotte and I have one dinner and Trey and Jay have some plain dinner!

A Weekend with Cousins

And Nana

Trey and Charlotte had so much fun with their cousins this weekend! They played together, bathed together, and ate together! It was a quick preview for what Thanksgiving will be like with all those kids in the house. Let me just say I am so glad they liked to play outside!

Friday night we bathed the three youngest ones together.

We don't have a tv at the new house yet, so Trey likes to watch Elmo off You Tube on my computer. Chandler and Trey watched an Elmo's world together on Saturday morning.

Yeah, they both need some hair cuts.

Charlotte had so much fun with everyone running around her and playing.

Jay spent all day Saturday putting in a stone walkway from the front porch to the driveway. He had lots of helpers.

Trey cracked me up here because he put these little black things you hammer into the side of the walk in his bucket and he kept telling Jacob, "Pick one, Jacob, Pick one!"

Apparently they don't make sticks like these in Mechanicsville.

Trey needed a moment of solitude.

At the park with all the cousins. Chandler didn't want to get his picture taken!
