Easter is a busy day around here with Jay singing in three church services in the morning. We all drive together to church so everyone has to be up, dressed, and fed to be out the door by 7:00.
Jay and I got up early and got ready. Charlotte was her bright and cheerful self at 6:00 am so we didn't even have to wake her up to get dressed for church! She was very happy to put on her Easter dress and then go downstairs to check out her Easter basket.
Trey had to be woken up, but he when he remembered his Easter basket downstairs he was quick to get dressed. The kids loved their shovels and the m & m's inside the Easter eggs. The first thing he said after looking at everything was, "The Easter Bunny forgot my jelly beans." I tried to explain that the Easter Bunny remembered he did not like jelly beans, so she put m & m's in his eggs instead.
The kids were willing to let me take one picture of them in their Easter clothes before we headed off to church. We pulled down the driveway at 7:01 am, which I think is pretty good!
At the 8:00 service Jay sings and then I help with the kids. Our Sunday School class doesn't have class on Easter, but instead each couple volunteers for one hour in the children's area as a way to help meet a need on Easter morning and to meet new families that may be visiting the church on Easter.
We came back from church after lunch and had a restful afternoon together. Both kids took super long naps while Jay and got ready for Trey's birthday party the next day!
