This past week Trey's last blue paci bit the dust. Or actually he bit it into pieces. Same thing.
We had been contemplating for a while how to get rid of said paci. Any gender neutral pacis ( or ba's as Trey so lovingly calls them) have been delegated to be "Larla's ba's" and therefore not able to be used again by her brother. This has worked wonders at leaving Trey with only one ba left. The ba went right under his pillow when he woke up and not to be seen again until bedtime or naptime.
This past week he chewed up his ba so it no longer worked properly. He would put it in his mouth, throw it into Charlotte's crib, and then talk to himself and not sleep during his entire naptime. No matter how much I tried to wear him out. At night he would take the ba and then put it in Charlotte's crib and then talk to himself for about an hour until he finally fell asleep.
Yesterday, he went to his grandparent's for the day since I had to go to work and he fell right to sleep in his big boy bed with no ba. Last night he asked for his ba so we gave it to him. He sang extremely loudly last night in his room, so in an effort to not wake up Charlotte, Jay went up to lay with him for a while. He gave Jay his ba and said he was ready for Jay to leave after 10 minutes. So the ba is now in the trash. No tears, no screaming, he was just done with it. Way, way easier than I thought it would be. And since we have no more blue ba's in our house there is no more pacis for the little man.
Also yesterday his Elmo Potty arrived in the mail. Along with The Potty Book for Boys and Too Big for Diapers. Onto more big boy things.....
